Lauren Conrad’s top five eco-friendly beauty and fashion products celebrating Earth Day

Lauren Conrad is staying busy as April’s Guest Editor for The Trend, according to an April 18 E! News report.  In addition to sharing stylish decorating  and shopping tips, the eco-fashionista is sharing her green beauty and fashion products with readers and fans.
What better time to go green than Earth Day.  “Discovering fashion and beauty products that are eco-friendly is a win-win in my book,” writes Conrad. The beauty trendsetter opines that her “eco-chic picks will have you looking your best and getting a few good karma points, all at the same time.”

Her first pick? A $235 blue, Organic by John Patrick, crop pullover sweater.  Conrad touts the beautiful color and organic cotton fabric, noting that the brand “creates fashions that are sustainable, in turn promoting social awareness about our environment.”
Her next pick is RODIN by RECINE luxury hair oil, which retails for $65, and according to the fashionista, keeps hair “soft and shiny.”  One significant plus for natural beauty fans is that the oil is “completely chemical-free and made of essential oils derived from flowers.”
Next up is an eco hot iron cover from Conrad’s own line of sustainable travel accessories.  Retailing for $14.99, it is made from “post-consumer recycled bottle fabric.”

Fourth is every girlie girl’s favorite – pink nail polish.  Conrad recommends Butter London’s nail laquer in fruit machine.  It is reportedly made without “harmful ingredients,” and retails for $15.
Last, but not least, is a $295 bright colored scarf with abstract print by M. Patmos.  “The bright, punchy colors of this scarf make it perfect for summer.  And I love how the manufacturer uses techniques that are socially consciousness and eco-friendly,” Lauren notes.
